Getting Your Catholic Scouting Awards

The Archdiocese of San Francisco encourages all Catholic scouts to participate in earning their religious awards. The Archdiocesan Catholic Scouting Committee provides training for leaders, mentoring and an annual awards ceremony. All are encouraged to participate  in recognizing the scout's accomplishment in studying his/her faith.

1. Decide the program that is age appropriate. Check the website for Catholic Girl Scout Awards or Catholic Boy Scout Awards.

2. Buy the workbooks from the Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education and Youth Ministry,

3. Complete all of the required application paper work in the workbook and return the back page of the booklet to the Office of Religious Education and Youth Ministry for review. Please complete the paper work at least one month in advance of the awards Mass in order to participate. Remember to download the order form for medals and complete paper work and return with check to the Archdiocesan office.

4. All scouts earning their Catholic Awards are expected to participate in the annual awards ceremony. Check with the Archdiocesan Scouting Committee Members or this website for date.

Scouts who cannot afford uniforms or equipment may be eligible for grant monies through the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Contact the Office of Religious Education and Youth Ministry for more information call 415-614-5650
