Sr. Ita Cleary    Sister Ita Patricia Cleary PBVM

March 14, 1923-October 10, 2017

Sister Ita Patricia Cleary went home to God on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Many of us knew her as the DRE at St. Roberts and the great Bible Study Programs that she helped with in the Archdiocese.

Sister Ita Patricia entered the Presentation Sisters in Thurles, Co Tipperary, Ireland in 1942. 1970 Sister Ita was missioned to teach at St. Roberts Catholic School, San Bruno, CA. In the ensuing years she served as Parish Director of Religious Education and Pastoral Associate to the Sick and Homebound, Vincent De Paul Society and Legion of Mary. She also served as Director of Presentation Associates in San Bruno, CA.    Sister Ita will be fondly remembered for her infectious smile and friendly and welcoming personality. She will also be remembered for her musical and storytelling talents, her creative ability with knitting and crochet needles, her Bible Study Classes that she taught at the St. Roberts Parish and Mercy Center, Burlingame, CA and her participation as a student in the Spanish Classes at San Bruno Senior Center. Sister ita was a cancer survivor for over forty years. Ar dheis De go raibh a h'anam. (May her soul be at Gods right side.)

Collection to Aid Santa Rosa Diocese with Fire Damage October 28-29

The Archbishop is aware that many parishes want to take up a collection to help our brothers and sisters in the Diocese of Santa Rosa and he endorses this approach. Therefore, he is asking every parish to take up a Fire Collection for the Diocese of Santa Rosa on the weekend of October 28-29. Please encourage your faithful to be generous because the need in the Diocese of Santa Rosa is great. In addition to whatever money is collected from the parishes, the Archdiocese will withdraw money from a designated fund to supplement substantially the money collected from the parishes. In order to provide help as quickly as possible, we ask that every parish send to the Chancery by November 30 their contributions to the Fire Collection. This money plus the contribution of the Archdiocese will then be sent to the Diocese of Santa Rosa.
